WHY ARE SMALLER GOALS MORE AMBITIOUS THAN BIGGER GOALS?
“There is no quick fix for success; you must set small goals to achieve the larger vision.”
Although we look back to the beginning of the year and reconcile the goals we set for ourselves, we are only two months away from 2022. Have we achieved any of the objectives we set for ourselves? Mostly no, so what went wrong, and did we lose interest in reaching them? Or have our goals shifted over time?
Well, I’d say neither is the case; we still have the same goals and the same desire to achieve them. What went wrong is that we, the present Millenials, don’t comprehend the concept of prioritising tiny goals above the final destination to acquire something.
Now, what is required to understand is how important it is to achieve small goals? It’s simple; below are a few reasons why and how to achieve small goals.
Its baby steps that lead you to big success
When we talk about great ideals and their success, we sometimes overlook the hard work and tiny goals they have achieved and completed. No one reaches tremendous heights overnight, and you must first achieve many modest goals to achieve the desired success. You should never begin deadlifting without first easing into the fundamental exercises.
Small goals push you to focus more
The main reason we drift away from our goal is to set such lofty goals that are primarily concerned with our future that our enthusiasm for achieving them wanes. It is usually preferable to set goals that you can reach now rather than later. Short term objectives keep the focus intact because you know you don’t have much time to attain them. Big ambitions are futuristic. Therefore they disturb your confidence and motivation in the present.
It builds confidence and strengthens your vision
It’s the success cycle; when you achieve smaller objectives in life, you gain more confidence and sharpen your vision. As you know, success breeds success; when you achieve small goals in life, you mould yourself to achieve a slightly larger purpose and eventually the destination.
Short term goals are the key to long term success
Small objectives, such as the smallest and easiest one that takes the least amount of time to complete, are crucial to comprehend since they will make you thirstier for bigger goals if you start achieving small goals regularly.
If it’s all about the little things, a bigger objective won’t matter unless you’re comfortable with the smallest things in life. Start today by making a list of all the small goals you have, then attempt to achieve some of them to see how they affect your motivation.
