Leave Goal shame behind to achieve your biggest goal

Many are just afraid of admitting their goals because they feel that somehow it doesn’t lie in their range of achievements.

Goal shame is the hesitation in admitting goals, and that is the main barrier to achievement.

For many, confidence is a challenge. Many internal thoughts go inside the mind like “Can I do it? Maybe, I am not the right candidate for it! I would have appreciated it if things were in my favour!”. Your scope of achievement and what is feasible for you is your possibility. There’s none, neither human nor things that will decide your fate apart from you. Internal shame is fueled by insecurity, guilt, fear, and judgement.

If you are going through the same situation, a few things will help you come out of it and let you achieve your biggest desire.

You need to stop complaining!

Everything starts from you, your goals, aspirations, confidence, achievement and even self-doubt. You become what you believe. If you let others control your performance, you can never become what you want because the remote isn’t there with you. Sometimes looking at how far you have reached is better than turning around and measuring the distance. Whether it is optimism or pessimism, you must decide that for yourself.

Turn a deaf ear and blind eye towards judgement

No matter how much you have achieved or how far you have come, there would always be someone who wouldn’t have good things to say about you. You need to understand that not everything and everyone would work in your favour. Ultimately, not everyone would wish well for you. There might be people who wouldn’t like your work, but it isn’t always your work’s quality; sometimes, opinions and choices do not match! So, focus on what you want and how you will work towards achieving it and that will soon become a habit.

Stop playing around with your goals

When you are not sure about what you want and how you are going to progress towards it, you are just playing around!

Donald Miller says, “If [a batter] fails 70% of the time, he will end up in the Hall of Fame. I think life gives you even better statistics. If you fail 90% of the time on ambitious goals . . . you’re going to end up in the human being hall of fame.” You need to accept failure, and that works.

Don’t create limits by being ashamed of your goals. Everything that your thoughts reflect is a signal for thriving actions.
