Personal/Self-Development is a never-ending lifelong process. It is a way for people to assess their skills and qualities. There’s this great axiom of life, “to have more than you’ve got, become more than what you are”. It makes complete sense if you sit and ponder over it. You can only be deserving of so many good things in life if and only if you become a receiver.
There are certain elements that form a whole existence of YOU, complete you, and contribute to your development by all means.
Personal development is a challenge, a push, a struggle. The parameters set by the world out there are hard but your life goals should only be set by you and no one else to maximise your potential to achieve them.
Have a holistic approach to become a better and an aware version of yourself.
Although early life developments and experiences form a major part of your personality, developing your skills should not stop ever.
The 4 parts of personal development will be
- Spiritual
Spiritual development can mean something different to each one of us. Anything that aligns you to your inner self and the universe starts your spiritual journey. Anything that brings you peace is SPIRITUAL. The activities that fall under this category can be anything from spending time in prayers, meditating, taking walks appreciating, and showing gratitude towards what the universe has to offer us.
- Mental
Grow your mind and you can partake in any challenge. Pursuing ideas, good thinking habits, stretching your mind, and reading habits all of these habits contribute to an extra edge to your self-development on mental health. Challenge yourself for the things that scare you and that is exactly how you overcome mental challenges or else you leave yourself unprepared.
- Physical
The body and the mind work in sync, in coordination with one another. So you have to work on both equally. Pay attention, be observant and then feel things in and around your environment. That is how you become aware and develop the physical aspect of self-development. Be skillful and presentable enough to take your image value a step ahead in the marketplace. It has a lot to do with how seriously people take your acceptance; On the job, in your friend circle, your community. Well, people shouldn’t judge you by your appearance but they do! Never base your life on the probabilities of should and shouldn’t but realities. Physical appearance is the biggest aspect of personality development. Be conscious of self, but not self-conscious.
- Social
Developing and upgrading your social skills is a necessity these days. This one is about improving your interpersonal skills and is still overlooked in the practises for self-development.
Old habits don’t die that easy and new habits don’t come easy, but they can be developed. Sometimes when you develop a lot of pace in one direction and get used to a certain routine or lifestyle and habits, it’s not that easy to change but it is possible. Taking inspiration is good, but you must be able to do something with that inspiration; inspiration must lead to discipline.
